Day 3

EMILY’s post

With Trump tower next door, we started shopping spree las vegas style in fashion show mall. Probably one of my highlights of the holiday so far. Clothes, shoes, bags me me me but ovbiously my dad and brother weren’t impressed so they hung around the gadget stores. Only when it came to Boot Star where racks upon racks of cowboy boots did their adrenelin kick in, with Greg trying on hats, me and my dad torturing our feet with boots did the roadtrip really start.

Las Vegas shopping centre bowled me over but thank fully pepsi was there to keep me going. Video-taping our journey back to Ceasar’s by foot which was a bad decision by me. The heat still suffocating but the tanning session starts immediately. Going back and forth through the hotel continually buying more souvenirs.

Finally returned back to hotel, 2 hours after we thought we would return, our soles burnt out. Made our way to the pool, me and Doctor Who comfortably sun bathing and Greg and my dad getting refreshed in the 3 n a half feet pool.

Sleaz zone has finally come into our agenda with the entertainment of light show.

Day 2 - Sunday

Ambled around some of the major hotels, cloudy but very hot today.  Had a champagne breakfast which was ridiculously expensive -oops. Still waiting to get in the pool.

Visited New York, New York and picked up some magic tricks for Greg, ambled into Caesars Palace, saw and ogled at the boutiques - a towel for £150 (yes you read correctly), saw the Gondolas at the Venetian, and saw a magic show with wild cats.  The hotels are incredible adventure playgrounds.

For dinner we went to the ‘Excalibur’ for a live medieval show, knights of the round table and all that.  Horses and jousting with sword fights - all very theatrical.

Greg is now ill (or so it seems so we can’t take in the neon light show around town.)

Hail Las Vegas

Day 1 departure and arrival (21st July)

No delays and away on time.  10hrs is a long time to sit and do nothing.  High spots – views over Greenland, at least it was white with ice and snow, re-assuring with all the stuff on global warming.

Arrival somewhat spoilt by technical breakdown of Immigration computers – meant we didn’t experience the heat of 40degrees until an hour later.

From the aitport we could see the pyramid, Empire State Building , Chrysler Building and the Eiffel Tower, except we were looking at replicas.

Hotel swank, complete with the sound of one arm bandits and Starbucks coffee everywhere.

We had a walk round the place – 2 hrs later we are only next door.  Place is huge and the reception area is cavernous.  Went to bed at 8pm here – about 4am UK time.

Greg’s thoughts – shame the train from Watford Junction was cancelled, but enjoyed getting here – I can’t believe  I am here.

A DAY To Go

Gatwick doesn’t inspire me, but hopefully not every family will be leaving at the same time, will be keeping a watch for delays.

Over 40 degrees in Vegas, it will  be hot, have packed t shirts only and beach bum stuff
